Microsoft’s Azure Stack for India Set to Spur Digital Transformation

Microsoft is launching Azure Stack for India which will accelerate Indian customers’ move to the cloud and encourage more businesses to adopt cloud for their digital transformation. Azure Stack is an extension of Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform that is designed to bring the agility and innovation of cloud computing to on-premises environments. It also facilitates entirely new hybrid cloud scenarios. Leading Azure Stack partners including Dell, Lenovo, HP, Cisco, and EMC have already begun shipping Azure Stack to customers in India.

What the stats speak?

In an official statement released this week, Microsoft mentions that 70 out of the top 100 Bombay Stock Exchange listed companies are presently using Microsoft’s cloud to drive their digital transformation initiatives. Microsoft collaborates with 200,000 small, medium and large enterprises in India and supports 29 State Governments and over 5000 start-ups in the country. Over the past one and a half year, Microsoft has seen many Indian businesses undergoing digital transformation using the hybrid cloud. Out of the 42 global data centers of Microsoft, three are in India. Microsoft is also the first public cloud service provider to be enlisted by the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India in 2016.

Driving Digital Transformation with Azure Stack

Today’s workplace is increasingly witnessing “mobile-only” and “cloud-only” collaboration and productivity scenarios. Microsoft is working with its customers and partners to hasten their transition into intelligent cloud and intelligent edge, that will help build new engines of growth. Microsoft has already built a huge Azure Stack ready partner ecosystem with leading partners such as Netmagic, Embee and G7CR.

Some of the key beneficiaries of Microsoft’s cloud in India are Financial Services and Information Technology (IT/ITeS), manufacturing industry, education sector, start-ups, and banks. All these domains will witness a drastic transformation with the introduction of Azure Stack. In the coming months, Microsoft and its partners will empower their customers in India to exploit further on cloud platform, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Cognitive Intelligence, and Internet of Things (IoT).
